胆固醇氧化酶（Cholesterol oxidase，CHOD）是一种含有FAD的黄素蛋白单体，催化胆固醇分解的第一步。CHOD是一种双功能酶，在需要FAD的步骤中将胆固醇氧化为胆甾-5-烯-3-酮，然后通过释放H2 O2异构化为胆甾-4-烯-3-酮。CHOD的最适pH为7.0。Hg 2+，Ag +，离子去污剂抑制酶活性。
溶于冷的50 mM磷酸钾缓冲液（pH 7.0）中。临用前制备溶液。
在37 °C和pH 7.0下，在过氧化物酶连接系统中，一个单位每分钟将1.0 μmol胆固醇转化为4-胆甾烯-3-酮。
